Not surprisingly, Alexandra Canning finished her competitive figure skating season in a place she was quite accustomed to this year: the podium.
The 12-year-old from Langley — who skates for the Coquitlam Figure Skating Club under the tutelage of Bruno Delmaestro and Kelly Champagne — won gold at the BC/YT Section Super Series StarSkate final in the juvenile ladies' (U14) division.
The competition was held at Kelowna's Capital News Centre earlier this month.
Canning scored a 36.05 to claim top spot in the group.
It wraps up a solid season which saw her find the podium in all five of her competitions, winning gold twice and taking silver three times.
