The Prince George Polars were no match for the Brookswood Bobcats.

The Bobcats scored 37 points in the second quarter alone — nearly matching the Polars' total over the entire game — in a 99-39 rout in the opening round of the B.C. Triple-A senior girls basketball championships at the Langley Events Centre.

The game was played on March 5.

The ’Cats led 25-12 after one quarter and were up 62-22 at the half.

The victory sets up a quarter-final clash against the MEI Eagles on March 6 (8 p.m.).

Brookswood's big three of Aislinn Konig, Jessie Brown and Tayla Jackson combined for 62 points.

Konig led the way with 24 points, nine rebounds, seven steals and six assists.

Brown scored 22 points, including six three-pointers, and also had four rebounds and four steals.

Jackson finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

As a team, Brookswood had 24 steals and scored 30 points off turnovers.

They also shot nearly 45 per cent from the field, hitting 31 of their 60 shots, while defensively holding the Polars to 20.6 per cent shooting (12-for-59).

Prince George was led by Issy Bourque's 13 points, 11 rebounds and five steals.
