’Cats top Valley team at provincials

Third seed after the Fraser Valley championships, Brookswood senior girls soccer top finisher among four Valley squads

The Brookswood Bobcats defeated the Archbishop Carney Saints 1-0 to capture seventh place at the B.C. senior girls 2A provincial soccer championships.

The tournament was held May 28 to May 30 at Burnaby Lake Sports.

Brookswood had finished second in their pool after losing 1-0, tying Valleyview 2-2 and edging Duchess Park 3-2.

The ’Cats lost 1-0 to LV Rogers in the first game of the playoff round.

Brookswood, which was third at the Fraser Valley championships, were the top team among the four Fraser Valley participants at provincials, including beating Archbishop Carney, who had won the Fraser Valley title.

Brookswood’s Breanne Anderson was named to the Commissioners 11 team.
