Members of the Langley Figure Skating Club were rehearsing on Monday for this weekend’s bi-annual ice show.

The George Preston Recreation centre will be “going Hollywood” this Saturday as young skaters hit the ice for the Langley Figure Skating Club’s bi-annual ice show.

Figure skating coach Rob Woodley said the theme of the show this year — “Ice, Camera, Action: LFSC Goes Hollywood” — is “something that’s fun and something that is recognizable.”

There are 180 skaters in the show as well as a guest performance by Jericho Boulin, a former national champion in pairs skating from Maple Ridge.

Woodley said the best part of putting together the event is the actual show day when everything comes together.

“It’s a great feeling for the skaters, for the coaches and for the volunteers, just being in the lights and in the action for the whole day,” he said.

There is an afternoon show at 1p.m. and an evening show at 7 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased at the door 45 minutes before each performance at a cost of $12 for adults, $8 for seniors and youth, $5 for children (3-12) and free for children under two who do not occupy a seat.
