The Langley Crunch were tops at a peewee hockey tournament in Lillooet.

Langley ‘Crunch’ed the competition over the weekend.

The local hockey squad was in Lillooet for a peewee house tournament, and after a close scare in the opener, the Crunch flattened their opponents en route to the gold medal.

Langley won 3-2 against North Okanagan in the first game.

The offence found its game against Ashcroft, piling up a dozen goals in a 12-0 rout of Ashcroft.

Needing a win in the final round robin game against Prince George to advance to the final, the Crunch proved to be too much, winning 9-1.

The gold medal game was against 100 Mile House, and while their opponents came out firing in the early going, the Crunch withstood the early pressure. Langley then scored in its first shot and never looked back, winning 9-3.
