Spencer England made a spectacular save in the last minute of play to preserve a 14-13 victory for the Langley Junior Thunder lacrosse team.

The Thunder were at Victoria's Bear Mountain Arena on Saturday night against the host Junior Shamrocks.

Langley fell behind 3-0 seven minutes into the game before storming back.

The rest of the game was a tight affair with Brett Dobray netting the winner with 83 seconds to play. It was his fourth goal and seventh point of the game.

Johnny Pearson also had a big game with four goals and one assist while Nick Stone tallied once and set up six scores.

Ryan Watson had a hat trick and two helpers.

Langley's other goals came from James Rahe (one goal, three assists) and Brandon Bull (one goal, two assists).

The victory puts Langley firmly in control of securing third place in the B.C. Junior A Lacrosse League as they need just one win in their final two regular season contests.

The Thunder host Delta at the Langley Events Centre on July 4 before Nanaimo comes to the LEC on July 7.

Langley also made a pair of moves prior to the trading deadline on June 30, adding some depth on defence with Dan McDermott and Quinton Bradley.

The trade cost the team the playing rights of Chase Fraser in one of the moves, while the other cost them a second round pick in the 2014 junior draft and future considerations.
