Hugh Brown and the Walnut Grove Gators can finish anywhere from fifth to eight place at the BC 3A senior boys provincial volleyball championships at the Langley Events Centre.

The Walnut Grove Gators battled back from a two sets to none deficit to force a fifth and deciding set, but the senior boys volleyball team came up just a few points shorts of capping the comeback.

The Gators lost 15-13 in the deciding set to fall in the quarter-finals of the BC 3A senior boys provincial championships at the Langley Events Centre on Friday morning.

Walnut Grove fell 3-2 (25-19,25-15,14-25,21-25,15-13) to the Dover Bay Dolphins, the top team from Vancouver Island.

The Gators had gone 0-3 in power pool play on the first day of the championships before knocking off the Delta Pacers 3-1 (23-25,25-17,25-23,25-17) in the round of 16 match.

Walnut Grove wraps up the championships with two more matches and the team can finish anywhere from fifth to eighth at the 20-team tournament.
