Five playing for Valley all-stars

A handful of players and one coach from Langley United Premier men's soccer team chosen for all-star battle with Vancouver Island

A handful of Langley United soccer players will represent the Fraser Valley this weekend in an all-star game.

Goaltender Colton Keam, midfielder Tyson Keam, striker Colin Jones and defenders Brayden Volkenant and Brent Wantke are playing for the Fraser Valley Soccer League all-stars in a matchup against the Vancouver Island all-stars.

The Fraser Valley team will also be coached by Rob Keam.

The game will be played on Saturday (Jan. 11) in Victoria.

The Langley United club sits second in the Premier Division of the Fraser Valley Soccer League with a record of 8-1-2, one point back of top spot.

The club — the defending Fraser Valley Premier League champions — also won the Pacific Cup back in November. The Cup is a competition between teams from the Fraser Valley and Vancouver Island and Langley doubled the Saanich Fusion 4-2 in the finals.
