Five hockey players from Langley are on the short list of 27 players who are hoping to land a spot on Team BC for next year’s Canada Winter Games.

The team is for the top U16 players from around the province.

Jordan Hollett (goalie), Alec Capstick (defence), Jarret Tyszka (defence), Conner Bruggen-Cate (forward) and James Malm (forward) were all on the list, which was announced on July 28.

The short list contains four goalies, eight defencemen and 15 forwards.

The original pool of players was 160 and the final roster of 20 (two goalies, six defence and 12 forwards) will be announced in November.

The Games will be held Feb. 13 to March 1 in Prince George.
