Flip City Gymnastics athletes did the host club proud at the Gymnastics BC championships, held inside the Langley Events Centre’s Fieldhouse this past weekend.
In trampoline and tumbling, Flip City boasted some provincial gold medalists including nine-year-old Sophie Kraushar in double mini trampoline (DMT), Connar Tomalty in senior men’s DMT, and 13-year-old Allyson Armstrong in women’s tumbling.
Allyson’s 14-year-old brother, Owen, won a pair of silver medals in DMT and trampoline, finishing second behind world champion Gavin Dodd, 13, from Kamloops in both events.
Flip City head coach Rusty Pierce was happy with the event as a whole.
“We received compliments from across the province about how well organized it was, and how much people loved the new facility behind the Langley Events Centre,” Pierce remarked.
