A new addition to the 2013/14 Langley Rivermen is Hunter Anderson.

Before the season, the junior A hockey team  acquired the veteran forward from the Lincoln Stars of the USHL in exchange for future considerations.

Anderson has a single assist and eight penalty minutes in three games with the ’Men so far this season.

Hailing from Savage, Minn., the 20-year-old Anderson stands 6’4” and 212 pounds, adding some formidable size to the Rivermen’s forward group.

In 47 games with the Stars last season, Anderson put up four goals and seven assists along with 120 penalty minutes.

“On the ice the first thing that jumps out about Hunter is obviously his size, but he compliments it with a very nice skill set and a goal scoring ability,” Rivermen head coach and general manager Bobby Henderson said.

Two years ago with the NAHL’s Coulee Region Chill, Anderson had 19 goals and 18 assists with 91 penalty minutes in 57 games.

Along with his physical presence and scoring touch, Anderson can also be expected to play a key role defensively, the Rivermen believe.

“With the addition of Hunter we are also adding another leader in the room,” Henderson added, before the start of the season. “Hunter has earned the respect of his previous coaches and teammates and we look for him to make an immediate impact on the ice, in the room and in the community.”
