Holders of tickets to the 2010 Winter Olympics can travel free to and from the events on public transit.
Event tickets give holders unlimited access to all of TransLink’s services, including bus, SeaBus, HandyDART, SkyTrain and West Coast Express. The free rides last to the end of service early in the morning following the day of the event.
People from Langley who want to travel to G.M. Place, which has been renamed Canada Hockey Place for the duration of the Games, can travel by bus from the Langley Bus Loop on Logan Avenue to the Surrey Central SkyTrain station.
Those with tickets to figure skating events at the Pacific Coliseum should get off SkyTrain at 29 Avenue, where an Olympic shuttle will take them to the old arena.
TransLink also offers limited edition, six-week 2010 Games transit passes that provide unlimited travel on buses and SkyTrain, including the Canada Line, Expo and Millennium Lines. These passes are good for travel starting February 8, 2010 (before start of the Olympic Games on Feb. 12,) and run right through to the closing ceremonies for the Paralympics on March 21.
The 2010 Games transit passes are useful for anyone wanting to shift to public transit to avoid the traffic and parking restrictions during the Games. The passes are available at most FareDealer locations where transit tickets and passes are sold for one, two or three zone travel for adults, or for young people and seniors who qualify for concession fares.
