Another weekend, another tournament victory.
The Walnut Grove Gators, the No. 1 ranked AAA senior girls team in the province, improved to 23-0 after winning their fourth tournament of the season, taking top spot at Centennial Centaurs Top-Ten Shootout over the weekend.
The Gators defeated the No. 2 Kelowna Owls 83-64 in Saturday’s championship final.
Walnut Grove also beat Heritage Woods 86-78, Duchess Park 90-54 and South Kamloops 82-50.
Tavia Rowell picked up most valuable player honours while Natalie Rathler was a first team-star.
Brookswood Bobcats’ Jenna Dick was named a second team all-star, helping the ’Cats finish sixth with a 2-2 record.
The Bobcats beat Carson Grahm 93-62 in the opening round but lost 96-71 to Kelowna in the quarter-finals. Brookswood would split their final two games, winning 84-49 to Oak Bay before losing 87-78 to Heritage Woods in the fifth/sixth place game.
