The Walnut Grove Gators basketball season began with a gold medal over the weekend.
The senior boys basketball team captured top spot at the Kodiak Classic hosted by Heritage Woods Secondary.
The team went 4-0 and won their games by an average of 20 points per contest, including a 92-65 win in Saturday's championship final against St. Georges.
In the team's other games, they topped Holy Cross 81-71, beat Terry Fox 86-56 and topped Burnaby South 91-76.
Jake Cowley was named most valuable player.
