The Vancouver Giants are in the market for a new assistant coach.

The Western Hockey League club announced on Monday that assistant coach Tyler Kuntz would not be back behind the Giants bench for the 2017/18 season.

The Giants thanked him for his “dedication and commitment to the organization and wish him best in his future endeavours” the club said in a statement.

Kuntz has spent the past two seasons as an assistant, first with Lorne Molleken in the 2015/16 campaign, and then this past year with Jason McKee.

Prior to joining the Giants, Kuntz was the head coach with the UBC men’s hockey team.

The 38-year-old from Saskatchewan had played for the Thunderbirds from 1999 to 2004.

Vancouver is accepting applications for the job at info@vancouvergiants.com with the subject line ‘application for assistant coach.’
