Goals 18 seconds apart helped the Langley peewee C6 Ice Hawks storm back to take the tournament title.
The hockey team was in a field of 16 over the weekend at the Sunshine Coast Winter Classic in Sechelt.
And after winning their pool to advance to the title game, the Ice Hawks found themselves down 3-2 in the middle of the second period against Cloverdale C6.
David Hendricks — the player of the game — set up Brandon Toby for the tying goal and then 18 seconds later, Toby set up Hendricks for the eventual game-winner.
The Ice Hawks added three goals in the third period for the 6-3 final score.
The Langley coaching staff was impressed by their team’s effort and the fact every line contributed to the big win in the finals.
In the team’s other games, they defeated Port Moody C3 2-1, won 4-2 over Cloverdale C4, and beat the host Sunshine Coast C1 team 7-1.
