The Langley Junior Thunder fell 8-6 to the visiting Delta Islanders, the first two-game losing streak for the junior A lacrosse club.
The Thunder hosted Delta at the Langley Events Centre on June 6.
Langley held a short-lived 2-1 lead in the first period, but for the rest of the game were playing catch-up.
The teams were tied at 2 after one period — despite a 19-5 advantage in shots for the Thunder — and the Islanders led 5-4 after 40 minutes.
Delta sealed the win with goals 26 seconds apart late in the third.
Brett Dobray led Langley with two goals and five points while James Rahe had a hat trick.
Nathan Henare had the other Thunder goal.
The loss dropped Langley to 6-4 and into fifth place in the B.C. Junior A Lacrosse League standings.
Delta improved to 8-5 and holds down first place with 16 points.
The Thunder will try to get back on track when they host Nanaimo on June 9 at 5 p.m. at the Langley Events Centre.
