The Langley Junior Blaze took a big step towards clinching the B.C. U16 Premier Baseball League title.

The Blaze swept the Coquitlam Redlegs 9-3 and 8-3 on Sunday afternoon at Mundy Park to improve to a league-leading 25-6.

With five games to play, Langley leads second-place North Shore by 3.5 games.

In the opener, Quntin Nakamura and Trevor Alcos each drove in three runs while Wesley Moore scattered three runs over five innings.

Nakamura had another pair of RBIs, as did Moore, in the 8-3 game two win.

James Hardy earned the win, allowing one run over four innings.

Langley visits the Abbotsford Junior Cardinals on July 22 before closing the regular season on the road with a doubleheader on Saturday in Victoria versus the Junior Eagles and Sunday in Whalley against the Junior Chiefs.
