Junior Blaze offence cools down

Langley 16U baseball team shut out after scoring 20 runs in previous two games

One team made the most of their opportunities, while the other did not.

And the end result was a 2-0 victory for the White Rock Junior Tritons over the Langley Junior Blaze on April 19 at South Surrey Athletic Park.

The Tritons scored a run apiece in the bottom of the first and third innings for the game’s only offence. White Rock managed just three base hits and five base runners, but managed to bring two of them home.

Langley, only had a pair of base hits, but had several others reach on walks. However, the team stranded eight base runners.

Ryan Blight was tagged with the loss, allowing two runs. He struck out four.

The Blaze had scored 20 runs in their previous two games but were shut-out in this one, falling to 2-1 on the season.

Langley is in Victoria for a doubleheader on April 22 against the Junior Eagles before hosting the Victoria Junior Mariners in a twin-bill on Sunday at McLeod Athletic Park. First pitch on Sunday is 1 p.m.
