Junior Blaze split with Royals

Langley, Parksville trade double-digit victories

The Langley Junior Blaze and Parksville Junior Royals traded double-digit victories.

The Royals won 10-0 before Langley returned the favour with a 12-2 victory in game two of the doubleheader on Sunday at McLeod Athletic Park.

The split leaves Langley with a 16-10 record in the BC Junior Premier Baseball League.

Game two saw the teams tied at two runs apiece after one inning before the Blaze blew the game open with a six-run third inning en route to the 12-2 victory.

Brendan Winning, Alex Wright and Samson Back each drove in a pair of runs.

Terrell Rogers earned the win after allowing four hits over four innings.

Game one saw the Blaze muster just four hits in the shutout loss.

Langley returns to action when they visit the first-place North Shore Junior Twins on Wednesday (June 14) at Parkgate Park.
