The Langley Junior Thunder have drawn first blood in their best-of-three quarter-final playoff series.

After falling behind 2-0 just 3:14 into game one of the B.C. Junior A Lacrosse League playoff series on Tuesday (July 9) at the Langley Events Centre, the Thunder rallied for the 14-10 victory over the Port Coquitlam Saints.

The Thunder led 6-3 after one period and were up 10-5 after 40 minutes. It was a 13-7 advantage with three minutes to go before the Saints scored three times in 33 seconds. But that was as close as the visitors would get.

Langley had four players with huge games on the scoresheet as both Sean Lundstrom (two goals, five assists) and Brett Dobray (three goals, four assists) had seven-point nights while Johnny Pearson (three goals, three assists) and Reegan Comeault (one goal, five assists) had six-point efforts.

Nick Stone (one goal, two assists) Adam Will (one goal, one assist) and Brendan Mykle-Winkler (one goal, one assist) also had multi-point games. Brandon Bull scored once.

Spencer England made 25 saves for the victory.

Game two goes July 12 at the PoCo Rec Centre, and game three, if necessary, would be on July 14 at 8 p.m. at the LEC.
