Kodiaks cruise to sixth straight victory

Aldergrove blasts home four goals in game's first 10 minutes en route to 6-1 win over Port Moody Panthers

Four goals in the game's first 10 minutes were more than enough to push the Aldergrove Kodiaks to a season-high sixth-straight victory.

Samuel Ramsay opened the scoring 23 seconds in on Saturday (Dec. 15) night as the Kodiaks cruised to a 6-1 win over the Port Moody Panthers.

The junior B PIJHL hockey game was played at the Port Moody Arena.

Following Ramsay's goal, Ryan Veillet struck for a pair of goals and Tyson Solotki made it 4-0.

The Kodiaks' Stefan Gonzales and Port Moody's Jackson Surbey traded second period goals before Daniel Higgs completed the scoring in the third.

Mark Menicuci made 31 saves. The goaltender leads the league with a sparkling .934 save percentage while also ranked third in goals against at 2.19.

Aldergrove improved their record to 16-11-1-0.

The Kodiaks play their final game before the holiday break on Dec. 19, hosting the Delta Ice Hawks at the Aldergrove Arena.
