Four straight goals eliminate first period deficit as Aldergrove wins again

The Aldergrove Kodiaks scored four unanswered goals to erase a 3-1 deficit and win 5-3 in their home regular season finale at the Aldergrove Arena.

The game was played on Wednesday (Feb. 12) with the win improving the junior B Kodiaks to 33-6-2-2 and 70 points. The team remains one point ahead of the Richmond Sockeyes for first place overall in the Pacific Junior Hockey League, but the Sockeyes hold a game in hand.

Joshua Cronin paced the Kodiaks attack with a goal and two helpers while Tate Sproxton made 28 saves for the win.

Jonathan Philley, Nolan Dyck, Scott McHaffie and Stephen Ryan had the other goals.

It was Ryan's 39th goal of the season and 84th point, both of which lead the league. He is trying to become the first 40-goal scorer since 2006/07.

Aldergrove closes the regular season on Feb. 15 when they visit the Port Moody Panthers.

They will play either Mission City or Port Moody in the first round of the PJHL playoffs beginning next week.
