Kodiaks win again

Aldergrove uses balance to win fourth straight

The Aldergrove Kodiaks got contributions from up and down their line-up as they posted a fourth consecutive victory.

The junior B hockey club had six different goal scorers and 14 players with at least one point in a 6-4 win over the Port Moody Panthers on Dec. 3 at the Aldergrove Arena.

The victory pulls Aldergrove into a tie for second place with the Langley Knights in the PJHL's Harold Brittain Conference. The teams are just two back of the division-leading Abbotsford Pilots.

And the Kodiaks face the Pilots in Abbotsford on Dec. 5 before hosting the Knights on Dec. 10.

Against Port Moody, Quinncy Leroux and Eric Callegari gave the Kodiaks a 2-0 lead after one period.

The Panthers' Eric Malli cut the lead in half early in the second before Aaron Markin and Cameron Davitt made it 4-1 after 40 minutes.

Spencer McHaffie notched the eventual game-winner early in the third and after Evan Gain and Mark Fletcher made the score 5-3, Jacob Cronin gave the Kodiaks some breathing room.

Gain scored his second for the 6-4 final.

Brandon Dolby had a pair of helpers for the Kodiaks.

Griffin Baillie picked up the win, stopping 15 of 19 shots as the Kodiaks outshot Port Moody 42-19.
