The Langley Allstars took top spot at a tournament in Newton, defeating the host side 7-3 in the championship final.

The Langley Allstars captured top spot at a junior baseball tournament in Newton.

The team of 13 and 14-year-olds shook off a loss in their second game to take top spot, defeating the host Newton squad 7-3 in the championship final.

The tournament was held June 25 to 30.

Langley went 2-1 in the round robin, beating Port Coquitlam 8-3, losing 7-4 to Burnaby and defeating Cloverdale 10-3.

In the semifinals, Langley topped Nanaimo 7-4.

The team is made up of: Kristian Lyon, Brayden Cameron, Jacob McDermott, Matthew Myers, Cheylon Smith, Kyle Pfeifer ,Logan Cameron; Mattius Dornblut, Tyler Hibbs, Parker Kubilius. Colby Walker, Nathan Ewing. Coaches- are Jeff Lyon, Lonnie Cameron and Dave Kubilius.
