The Langley Broncos defence led the way as the atom football team improved to 4-0 after a sparkling 24-0 victory over the Coquitlam Tigers.
The Vancouver Mainland Football League rivals squared off on Sunday at Mackin Park in Coquitlam.
Brandon Folkerts turned the momentum in the game in the second quarter after forcing and recovering a fumble by the Tigers ball carrier. From that point forward, Coquitlam managed just 30 yards of offence as the Broncos came through with their first shutout of the season.
Caydon Beck-Boreson led the defence with a dozen tackles.
AJ Steinmann scored twice while Beck-Borecon had the other score. Jessie Tomica was good on all three convert attempts.
The Broncos running game was too much for the Tigers, as managed to hold onto the ball the entire fourth quarter, consistently moving the chains thanks to great blocking from Hunter Hanley, Aiden Foster, Eric Hartwig, Liam Smart and Ethan Sledding.
Kaycen Horan did a good job running the offence in his first start at quarterback.

Quarterback Quintin Steinmann plunged into the end zone from one yard out on the game’s final play to give the Langley Bandits a 15-13 victory over the North Surrey Ravens on Sunday in flag football action.
Jordan Tomica and Vaughn Pinchin also had touchdowns for Langley.
On defence, Kirkland Roloff and Colten Buckley both came up with huge stops on defence, preventing what would likely have been North Surrey touchdowns.
Zaeden Pleasants, Jake Kirby and Cody Oliver were solid in opening up holes for the running game while Liam Duncan and Jacob Thorpe had huge defensive stops.

In a defensive battle, it was the Coquitlam Wildcats prevailing 6-0 over the Langley Cowboys in peewee football action.
The Cowboys were able to move the ball thanks to some nice runs by Nico Gerussi, Anthony Ghent and Devin Armstrong, but the team could not punch the ball in the end zone.
Defensively, Tysen Coombs came up with a blocked kick on a convert attempt. Shea Wutke, Luke Penney, Stryker Roloff, Liam Jeffrey, Tysen Bright, Mateo Ciampelletti and Ghent all had big tackles for the defence.
Quentin Van Muyen came up with a kick recovery.
