Teams from around the Lower Mainland got a bird’s eye view of the Langley Events Centre’s Fieldhouse during the high flying action at Feel the Power – Westcoast Starz cheerleading competition this past Sunday, April 12.

The Flip City team won for individual performance. Flip City’s team Dynasty was third in Junior Level 2.

The Langley Minor Football cheer squad was third in Senior Level 2.

“It went very well,” said event director Jeremy Wong, who is the co-owner of All Things Cheer & Dance.

“It was well received, and smooth running. All the teams that came in were happy with it, so it was a success for us, definitely.”

All Things Cheer & Dance – with offices in Surrey and Phoenix, Arizona – used the Langley Events Centre because of its central location and the fact it is “relatively new, clean and the whole management team is nice to work with,” Wong said.

He added that the level of competition was impressive.

“The teams are definitely looking stronger towards the end of season,” Wong said. “This is one of the last competitions of the year and it’s good to see some of the teams at this event that are about to go to the world championships.”
