Langley Knights ruling Harold Brittain

The Langley Knights are continuing to pile up points, and wins, in the Pacific Junior Hockey League.

The Knights’ most recent win was a 4-2 triumph over the host Abbotsford Pilots in a game played Saturday at MSA Arena.

Langley’s junior B squad is now an impressive 9-3-1, and lead the Harold Brittain Conference by seven points over the second-place Ridge Meadows Flames (6-7).

Down 2-1 after 40 minutes of play versus the Pilots, the Knights scored the only three goals of the third period to earn the victory.

Levi De Waal tallied a pair of unassisted goals, including the game winner, for the Knights, who also got singles from Tristan Craighead and Jackson Surbey.

On Thursday at the George Preston Recreation Centre, the Knights tied the rival Aldergrove Kodiaks 4-4 in a back-and-forth game.

Langley led 3-2 after the first period.

The teams were tied 3-3 going into the second intermission.

Carson Rose’s power play goal at the 5:37 mark of the third period gave the Knights a 4-3 lead.

However, fewer than two minutes later, Elvis Jansons tied the game for Aldergrove.

There was no more scoring after that.

Rose scored a pair for the Knights. Langley’s other goal scorers included Surbey and Blake Gorrill.

Jansons, Jordan Funk (who opened the scoring 1:02 in the first period), Jacob Cronin, and Brandon Dolby found the net for the visiting Kodiaks.
