The Langley Rivermen have acquired 18-year-old goaltender Darren Martin from the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League’s Battlefords North Stars in exchange for future considerations.

Hailing from Calgary, the 6’2” 190 pound Martin appeared in 22 games for the North Stars last season with a 12-7-1 record, a 2.34 goals against average, and a .923 save percentage.

Martin is no stranger to B.C., having played with the Okanagan Hockey Academy prior to beginning his junior career in Saskatchewan.

The addition of Martin gives what the Rivermen believe will be a solid goaltending tandom to start the 2014/15 B.C. Hockey League season.

Earlier this month, the ’Men acquired fellow SJHL goaltender Tyrell King from the Kindersley Klippers.
