Langley singer performs alongside Terri Clark for torch run in Alberta city

When the Olympic torch arrives in Langley on Feb. 8, it will no doubt bring with a sense of deja vu for Canadian pop recording artist Marika.

The singer, who has called Langley home for the past five years, was a guest performer alongside country music star Terri Clark, at a huge celebration of the torch’s arrival in Medicine Hat, Alta. on Jan. 16.

The arrival of the Olympic torch is a historic event — one that should not be missed, said Marika, who along with Clark, grew up in the southern Alberta city, and was invited back especially for the celebration. She sang a song written in memory of B.C. Lions football legend Bob Ackles, called Be the Best You Can Be as the torch arrived.
