Langley suffers fourth straight defeat, now sits at 7-7 following 4-0 start

The Port Coquitlam Saints used the power play to their advantage, scoring three times while a man up in the third period to knock off the Langley Junior Thunder 9-5.

The Thunder were hosting the Saints in BC Junior A Lacrosse League action on Thursday (June 15) at the Langley Events Centre with the loss — Langley’s fourth straight — dropping the team to 7-7.

The teams were tied at four after 40 minutes but Port Coquitlam scored twice while a man up 64 seconds apart to break the deadlock. Dawson Rodin pulled Langley back to within a goal with 4:51 to play but the Saints scored twice more to close things out.

Langley was behind the eight-ball all game as less than six minutes in, they found themselves trailing 3-0.

Ryan Martel led the offence with two goals and an assist while Nathaniel Kozevnikov and Tyson Kirkness had the other Thunder goals.
