Langley swimmers qualify for championship meet

A recent competition will send some swimmers to the next level.

Some Langley Olympians Swim Club members have qualified for Lower Mainland championship meets after a recent club competition.

The LOSC members hosted the Langley Invitational Swim Meet on Saturday, Feb. 10 at athe Walnut Grove Community Centre.

There were 11 teams in attendance from across the Lower Mainland with a total of 238 swimmers.

LOSC swimmer Bailey Herbert placed first in all four of her events. She placed first in the Women’s 100m Butterfly with a time of 1:03.78, the Women’s 50m Freestyle with an improved time of 26.98, the Women’s 100m Backstroke with an improved time of 1:05.76 and also in the Women’s 100m Freestyle with another improved time of 58.06.

Joshua Kim placed in all four of his events. He placed first in the Men’s 200m Butterfly with a time of 2:17.73. Joshua also placed second in three other events, the Men’s 100m Butterfly with a time of 1:01.26, the Men’s 100m Backstroke with a time of 1:05.47 and the Men’s 200m Backstroke with a time of 2:20.22.

Josie Field placed in three events this weekend. Josie placed first in the Women’s 200m Butterfly and in the Women’s 200m Freestyle with a time of 2:07.66. She placed 3rd in the Women’s 100m Backstroke with an improved time of 1:10.62. Josie also placed fourth in the Women’s 50m Freestyle with a time of 28:27.

Demetra Sicoli placed first in the Women’s 200m Individual Medley with a time of 2:27.80. She placed second in the Women’s 100m Butterfly with an improved time of 1:03.82. Demetra also placed fourth in two other events, the Women’s 100m Breaststroke with an improved time of 1:22.29 and Women’s 100m Backstroke with an improved time of 1:10.67

Hugh McNeill placed in first in the Men’s 100m Backstroke with a time of 1:01.24 and also placed third in the Men’s 200m Individual Medley with a time of 2:20.00.

Ayush Kaul placed first in the Men’s 200m Backstroke with a time of 2:19.98. Ayush also placed third in the Men’s 100m Backstroke with a time of 1:05.76.

Mia Goretic placed second in the Women’s 200m Backstroke with a time of 2:30.08. Mia Also placed fourth in the Women’s 200m Individual Medley with a time of 2:35.88.

Sophia Adrian placed third in the Women’s 400m Individual Medley with an improved time of 5:27.14. Sophia also placed 5th in the Women’s 200m Breaststroke with a time of 3:02.17.

Adam Schmidt placed third in the Men’s 200m Freestyle with an improved time of 2:08.82.

Reese Blunden came in the top eight in three events this weekend. She placed fourth in the Women’s 200m Backstroke with a time of 2:35.70, sixth in the Women’s 100m Backstroke with a time of 1:12.47 and seventh in the Women’s 400m Individual Medley with a time of 5:38.73.

Emily Manley came in the top eight in three of her events this weekend. She came fifth in the Women’s 200m Backstroke with a time of 2:35.81, sixth in the Women’s 50m Freestyle with a time of 29.33 and eighth in the Women’s 100m Backstroke with a time of 1:12.66.

Pearl Schramm came in the top eight in two events. She placed fourth in the Women’s 400m Individual Medley with an improved time of 1:10.67 and fifth in the Women’s 200m Butterfly with a time of 2:43.80.

Milana Solar came in the top eight in two events. She came fourth in the Women’s 400m Freestyle with a time of 4:53.78 and seventh in the Women’s 200m Freestyle with a time of 2:20.72.

Reagen Bedard placed eighth in the Women’s 100m Breaststroke with a time of 1:26.40.

Dylan Thomas placed eighth in the Men’s 100m Freestyle with a time of 59.89.

Katelyn Schroeder placed in the top eight in all four events. She placed sixth in the Women’s 200m Individual Medley with an improved time of 2:39.66. She also placed eighth in the Women’s 50m Freestyle with an improved time of 29.49, the Women’s 200m Butterfly with an improved time of 2:47.49 and the Women’s 100m Freestyle with an improved time of 1:04.63

Luke Stewart-Beinder placed fourth in the Men’s 200m Freestyle with an improved time of 2:10.90. Luke also placed seventh in the Men’s 100m Backstroke with an improved time of 1:09.91 and eighth in the Men’s 200m Butterfly with an improved time of 2:34.58.

Gracie Maryschak placed seventh in the Women’s 200m Backstroke with an improved time of 2:38.20. She also placed eighth in the Women’s 400m Freestyle with a time of 5:03.22.

Tyler Friesen placed sixth in the Men’s 100m Breaststroke with an improved time of 1:19.70

Madison Belgica placed seventh in the Women’s 200m Butterfly with an improved time of 2:47.47.

John Park placed seventh in the Men’s 200m Breaststroke with an improved time of 2:50.92.

Sevi Parr placed seventh in the Women’s 200m Individual Medley with a time of 2:40.04.

Brayden Herbert placed eighth in the Men’s 400m Freestyle with an improved time of 4:50.73.

Samantha Burwell qualified for LMR Champs.
