The Langley Thunder's home arena is the Langley Events Centre.

For the Langley Thunder, home is where the games aren’t.

The Thunder have only played once on their home floor this Western Lacrosse Association season, and are at the bottom of the seven-team WLA with a 1-4 record.

There’s more road work still to come for the senior A Thunder.

Four of their next five games are in enemy rinks, with a rare home date thrown in between, when they host the Nanaimo Timbermen at the Langley Events Centre Wednesday, June 22 starting at 7 p.m. The Timbermen are the only team the Thunder have beaten so far this season.

So, that’s two home games in their first 10 games of the season.

Tonight (Thursday, June 16) the Thunder are at New Westminster’s Queen’s Park Arena, where they will play the Salmonbellies.

The Thunder will be heading into New Westminster looking to make it two wins in a row, after an 11-8 victory over the Timbermen last Saturday in Nanaimo.

Goalie Rocky Bowman was named the game’s second star, making 49 saves while posting his first win of the season.

The Thunder’s Mitch McMichael led the offensive charge with a hat trick, while Derek Lowe added two goals and two assists.
