Langley United’s Colin Jones and the rest of the Premier men’s team battled Surrey Firefighters United for 120 minutes but came up on the wrong end of a 2-1 score on Saturday afternoon at Willoughby Community Park. The teams were playing in the Provincial A Cup quarter-finals.

Langley United gave the two-time defending provincial champion Surrey United Firefighters all they could handle, but conceded a late goal to fall 2-1 in overtime in the Provincial A Cup quarter-finals.

The game was played on Saturday afternoon at Willoughby Community Park.

The Firefighters had gone ahead in the 10th minute and that goal stood until midway through the second half when Langley United took advantage of Surrey having to play a man short after a red card.

Mitchell Rohla unleashed a 35-yard shot that sailed over the head of the Surrey keeper.

The game needed extra time and in the first period, Langley United also had a man sent off for a second yellow card.

Surrey United struck for the winning goal late in the second overtime period.
