The Langley Xtreme ’03 opened their peewee B rep girls softball season in fine fashion last weekend.
In its first tournament of the season, the U14B squad came away with a bronze medal from the South Surrey White Rock Minor Softball Association (SSWR Thunder) annual tourney, held April 29 to May 1.
Six teams in the 2003 peewee B age group competed in the round robin, with the Langley Xtreme ’03 placing second in the round robin standings with wins over the SSWR Thunder ’02, SSWR Thunder ’03, and Fleetwood Force ’03 and a tie against the Duncan Rivercats ’03.
The playoffs were held May 1 and the Xtreme ‘03 played a hard first game against the Duncan Rivercats ’03, with the game ending in 8-5 in favour of the Rivercats.
This moved the Xtreme ‘03 into the bronze medal game, where they downed the SSWR Thunder ‘02 by an 11-4 score to take home medals from the weekend.
