Langley's Lauryn Cheung is in Montreal this weekend competing at the national team trials with Canoe Kayak Canada.

Langley’s Lauryn Cheung is one of four B.C. athletes competing in Montreal this weekend at the second national team trials for Canoe Kayak Canada.

The athletes are vying for spots on the junior and U23 world championship teams, 12-month national team carding (an athlete assistance program), selection to the U17 Canada Cup tour team and selection to the Olympic Hopes tour team.

Cheung, who enters Grade 12 at R.E. Mountain Secondary in the fall, trains out of the Fort Langley Canoe Club.

Fort Langley Canoe Club coach Emily Raymond will also be attending the competition.
