Langley's Metcalfe takes silver at Zajac meet

Langley OIympians Swim Club goes up against Canada's best

Hillary Metcalfe won a silver medal at the Mel Zajac Junior International.

The swim meet was held at UBC from May 27 to 29 and featured some of the top swimmers from across Canada — including six who are on the Canadian Olympic team.

Metcalfe, one of nine members of the Langley Olympians Swim Club who attended, finished second in the 400 IM event.

She also was fourth in the 200 IM, fifth in the 100 breast and eighth in the 50 breast.

Metcalfe is off to UBC next year to swim.

Three other Langley swimmers cracked the top eight in their events.

Josie Field was fifth in the 200 fly, while also achieving her senior national qualifying time.

Renae Ledoux was fifth in the 200 breast and Joshua Kim was sixth in the 50 breast.
