The beasts of the east proved too much for the best of the west.
The Brampton Excelsiors doubled up the Langley Thunder 6-3 in game 5 of the Mann Cup championships on Monday night to capture Canada's senior A lacrosse title.
The entire series was played at the Langley Events Centre.
The Excelsiors won the final four games of the series to win their 11th Mann Cup in the lacrosse organization's storied 99-year history. It was also Brampton's third in the past four years as Ontario teams have now won six straight and eight of the past 10 Cups.
Langley was making its first appearance at the Mann Cup.
Brampton raced out to a 3-0 lead on goals form Zack Greer, Jarrett Davis and Kevin Ross in game 5 as they outshot the Thunder 19-9.

The Bramtpon Excelsiors celebrated their Mann Cup victory after winning game 5 against the Langley Thunder at the Langley Events Centre.The Thunder came to life early in the second period with captain Matt Leveque getting the home side on the board 55 seconds into the frame.
Alex Turner and Kyle Belton then scored 20 seconds apart to knot the score at three.
But Davis restored Brampton's lead less than three minutes later and the Thunder could not net the equalizer.
The Excelsiors iced the game with Davis' hat trick score and then added another from Frank Resetarits for the 6-3 final score.
Davis finished with three goals and an assist, while Greer (one goal, three assists) and Joe Walters (four assists) both had four points.
Captain Dan Dawson had three assists and goaltender Anthony Cosmo made 31 saves.
Both Dawson and Cosmo missed game one, but made it to Langley for the rest of the series.
Brodie MacDonald made 39 saves for the Thunder and Belton and Turner each had a goal and an assist.
