Josh Mayorga was named to the Canada West all-rookie team after a solid first season with the Thompson Rivers WolfPack. Mayorga graduated from Walnut Grove Secondary and helped the Gators win the 2013 provincial Triple-A championship.

Josh Mayorga has earned a spot on the Canada West all-star team.

The first-year guard started 10 games and appeared in 18 for the Thompson Rivers WolfPack men's basketball team.

Mayorga graduated from Walnut Grove Secondary in 2013 and helped the Gators capture the B.C. high school senior boys Triple-A title that season.

In his first year with the WolfPack, Mayorga averaged 3.2 points and 4.5 rebounds in 19.8 minutes per game.

“When we recruited Josh we knew that he had some abilities. As the season wore on, those abilities came more and more to the forefront," said WolfPack coach Scott Clark.

"The great news is that he is recognized for this, but he has oodles of room to grow.

"We have a pretty good player, who if he really works at it, will become a great player."
