A dominant defensive performance helped the North Langley Bears improve to 4-1 with a 29-0 victory over the Mission Niners in atom football action on Saturday.

The Bears defence, led by Chris Morrison and Jaxon Stebbings, did not allow a single first down, while Keaghan Hurley came up with a fumble recovery.

Manny Foitou, Jayden Bailey, Jacob Evans and Jedakai Hurley all came up with great tackles.

Mathieu Gale (five yards) and Jun McLean (60 yards) scored first half touchdowns while Callum Middleton (47 yards) and Marcus Stang (35 yards) ran for second-half scores.

Kode Kondo and Dakota Brown provided great tackles on the last run.

Tyson Hoy kicked a pair of two-point converts while Josh Harris ran another convert in.

The North Langley junior bantam Bears improved to 2-2 with a convincing 38-14 win over Mission.

Zander Bailey scored twice — a fumble recovery for one and a 100-yard touchdown run for the other — while quarterback Brett Christensen connected with Andy Hanlen on a long touchdown pass.

Pablo Wigwigan also ran for a pair of touchdowns while James Limoges also scored on a fumble return.

Yun-Jae Boo picked off a pair of Mission passes while Ryan Barthelson had another interception and made several key tackles.

Quarterback Ken McLean hooked up through the air with Cadeyrn Barthelson for a touchdown but that was not enough as the North Langley peewee Bears lost 28-6 to the Mission Niners.

The score came after Emerson Block picked off a pass.

The midget Bears lost 38-0 to the North Surrey Bears.

Brandon Sang and WonJae Boo both found the end zone but the North Langley bantam Bears fell 26-12 to Vernon on Sunday.
