North Langley shuts down Leopard attack

North Langley Bears Justin Marsh (#45) grabs a hold of his opponent during junior bantam football at McLeod Park.

Adrian Clements picked off two passes, while Michael Chan caught a pair of touchdown passes from Braeden Pritchard as the North Langley Bears defeated the Cloverdale Leopards 18-0 in bantam football on Saturday.

David Fredo had the other touchdown.

David Nathan and Colton Pierce were both effective running the ball, and Ian Canning had a nice catch-and-run.

Kenzie Oram also set the team up in good field position with his kickoff return.

The junior bantam Bears came up one point short, falling 31-30 to the Mission 9ers.

Zander Bailey and Elijah Johnson both found the end zone with multiple touchdowns, while kicker Liam Power converted three of the four scores.

Zack Butschler, Will Hawkins and Parker MacLelan were solid for the defence and quarterback Max Joseph showed great leadership.

Marcus Stang scored two touchdowns but the North Langley atom Bears lost 41-12 to Mission.

Nicholas Triemstra had a fumble recovery, while Jedahai Hurley, Jake Schmidt, Aiden McDonald, Matthew Aasen and Emerson Block came up with big tackles on defence.

Jun McLean and Nick Tanner had strong games blocking, opening up room for the running backs.
