The Langley Rams landed both the offensive and defensive player of the week for their semifinal performances over the weekend.
Running back Kyle Albertini won the BCFC offensive award while linebacker Joe Patko took defensive honours during their junior football team's 24-13 win over the Okanagan Sun at Kelowna's Apple Bowl on Oct. 12.
The win advances the Rams to the Cullen Cup as they face the V.I. Raiders on Oct. 19 at Nanaimo's Caledonia Park.
Against the Sun, Albertini rushed for 187 yards on 24 carries, an average of 7.8 yards per carry, as the Rams completely controlled the line of scrimmage.
He also led the league in rushing this past season.
On the defensive side of the ball, Patko tallied a game-high seven solo tackles, two knockdowns, recovered a fumble and intercepted a pass. He was a key part in helping hold the Sun to just 76 yards rushing.
