Kyle Prather scattered three hits over seven shutout innings as the Langley Blaze returned from Parksville with a doubleheader split.

Prather struck out three in game one, a 4-0 Blaze victory on Sunday at Parksville’s Royals Field.

The Royals battled back in game two, however, scoring three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to snap a 2-2 tie for the 5-2 win.

The results leave Langley with a 3-2 record in the BC Premier Baseball League standings.

In the opener, Michael Stovman had the lone RBI as the Blaze scored three unearned runs in the victory.

Stovman was tagged with the loss, allowing two earned runs over four and one-third innings.

Danny Berg had an RBI single while Marshall Luiz hit a sacrifice fly for Langley’s offence in game two.

The Blaze are in Kamloops this weekend for the Best of the West Tournament. Langley plays its home opener at McLeod Athletic Park on April 18.
