In hopes of boosting their anemic offence, the Langley Rivermen have added Patrick Martens to their roster.
"He has good hands, good instincts and is a great goal scorer," said Rivermen assistant coach Jordan Emmerson.
"(He) can skate well and will add depth to our organization.
"His numbers he put up in the KIJHL say it all."
In 21 games with the junior B KIJHL's Nelson Leafs, Martens had 22 goals and 39 points.
He was tied for the league lead in goals and sixth in points.
The Rivermen sit last in the 16-team B.C. Hockey League with a paltry 2.05 goals per game.
Martens paid dividends already, picking up a pair of assists in two games for Langley over the weekend.
The six-foot, 180-pound forward from Maple Ridge, Martens makes his Langley Events Centre debut with a pair of games on Friday (Nov. 18) against the Westside Warriors and Nov. 19 against the Vernon Vipers.
