Langley Knights' Carson Rose tries to make a move around Mission City Outlaws defenceman Brock Padgham during game two of the teams' best-of-seven PJHL playoff series. Rose scored a hat trick as his team won 7-5 to take a 2-0 lead.

Game one was won with defence while game two was a wide-open affair with the Langley Knights and Mission City Outlaws combining for a dozen goals.

But the end result was the same in both contests as the Langley Knights have taken a 2-0 lead in their best-of-seven PJHL divisional semifinal series.

The Knights won game one in Mission 3-1 on Feb. 18 behind 37 saves from Nickolas Trenciansky.

Langley then jumped out to a 4-1 second-period lead in game two the next night at the George Preston Recreation Centre. And after the Outlaws pulled even at 5-5 early in the third, Langley scored the last two goals in a 7-5 victory.

Game three is Feb. 20 at the Preston Centre while game four will be Feb. 21 at the Mission Leisure Centre.

Carson Rose led the way with three goals and four points. His second goal came a few minutes after David McGowan tied the score for Mission City and the hat trick goal was into the empty net.

Langley also got goals from Joshua Smith, Hayden Smer, Nicolas Bizzutto and Levi De Waal with Colin Catchpole setting up three goals and Oliver Alcock and Jayden Gill each dishing out a pair of assists.

Trenciansky made 38 saves as his team was out-shot 43-30.

McGowan, Tristan Dundas, Kyle Westeringh, Brody Dyck and Justin Bowerman had the Mission City goals.
