When the top U16 hockey players in the province hit the ice later this month, seven teens from Langley will be in attendance.

The seven were on the list of 144 players announced by BC Hockey for their 2018 Male U16 BC Cup.

The eight-team competition will be held at the Shaw Centre in Salmon Arm from April 18 to 22.

Representing Langley will be forwards Ty Gagno (Yale Hockey Academy), Davis Kish (Langley Minor Hockey), Liam Bressette (Langley Minor Hockey), Chase Sandhu (Burnaby Winter Club) and Ethan Urquhart (Delta Hockey Academy) and defencemen Elias Carmichael (Burnaby Winter Club) and Alex Serraglio (Delta Hockey Academy) will be on the ice among their peers.

The players were selected based on their performance at earlier regional camps.

And based on what the coaches see at the April camp, players will be chosen to make up three teams for the provincial team camp July 28 to Aug. 3 in Shawnigan Lake.
