It was a thrilling victory for the Langley Christian Lightning senior boys volleyball team as for the second year in a row they were crowned provincial champions.

And going back to the junior level, it was a third consecutive provincial crown for the group.

The Lightning defeated the Abbotsford Christian Knights 3-0 on Saturday night at the Langley Events Centre with Brodie Hofer earned the most valuable player award.

It was the third and final championship game of the day at the LEC hosted the Big Kahuna BC volleyball championships.

Earlier, the Belmont Bulldogs won 3-0 over the Handsworth Royals in the senior girls AAAA title game while in the senior boys AAA championship final, the Semiahmoo Totems needed five sets, but prevailed 3-2 over the Mount Baker Wild.

Both Belmont and Semiahmoo also won their respective provincial titles in 2016.
