Soccer champs set to be crowned at McLeod Athletic Park

Fraser Valley FC along with partner club Langley FC hosting BC Soccer Premier League finals on June 28 and 29

Some of the province's top soccer talent will be on the pitch at McLeod Athletic Park this weekend.

Fraser Valley FC, along with their partner club Langley FC, are hosting the top youth soccer clubs from the EA Sports BC Soccer Premier League (BCSPL) on June 28 and June 29.

"We are extremely excited to be hosting the 2014 Provincial Premier Cup and we look forward to seeing some of the youth soccer players in the province battle it out for a chance to go to the Canadian Soccer club nationals," said Andrea Laycock, the chairperson for Fraser Valley FC.

The winners of the U14, U16 and U18 age groups will have the chance to compete at nationals.

"With the chance to compete at nationals on the line, the quality of soccer played by these young players is incredible," said Don Dancey, the BC Soccer chair of youth competitions committee.

The boys finals are set for the first day (Saturday) while the girls finals are on the Sunday.

9 a.m. Male U14 — Coastal FC vs. Mountain United FC

11 a.m. Male U18 — Surrey United SC vs. Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC

1 p.m. Male U16 — Coquitlam Metro Ford SC vs. Vancouver Island Wave

3 p.m. Male U13 — Coquitlam Metro-Ford FC vs. Surrey United SC

5 p.m. Male U15 — Surrey United SC vs. Mountain United FC

June 29

9 a.m. Female U14 — Mountain United vs. Fraser Valley FC

11 a.m. Female U16 — Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC vs. Mountain United FC

1 p.m. Female U15 — Surrey United SC vs. Vancouver Island Wave

3 p.m. Female U13 — Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC vs. Fraser Valley FC

5 p.m. Female U18 — Coastal FC vs. Coquitlam Metro Ford SC
