Stroud's one-hitter leads Blaze to another win

Langley U18 baseball team has won 17 straight games

Liam Stroud threw a one-hitter as the Langley Blaze pushed their winning streak to 17 games.

Stroud struck out four and walked two over five innings as the Blaze defeated the Abbotsford Cardinals 10-0 on Tuesday night at McLeod Park.

Shoma Sasaki, Luke Horanski and Mitchell Robinson each drove in a pair of runs.

Langley leads the B.C. Premier Baseball League with a 19-3 record and Tuesday's win wrapped up an impressive six days which saw the team win six games.

The Blaze pounded the Coquitlam Reds 14-1 on May 9 at McLeod Park, and then went to Victoria and swept a pair of doubleheaders: 15-2 and 3-2 on Saturday at Lambrick Park against the Victoria Eagles and then went to Henderson Park on Sunday and beat the Victoria Mariners 14-4 and 8-0.

The team has now scored double digits in 11 of their past 14 games.
