Team Canada loses 9-2 to USA, earns bronze at 2014 Canadian Open

The Americans scored six runs in the 3rd inning to go up 8-0 early, and led by seven runs after the 5th to mercy Canada.

Team Canada crashed out of the Canadian Open semifinal on Monday night, but took bronze with them to cap a well-played, week-long tournament at Surrey's Softball City.

Canada lost to Team USA 9-2 in Monday's semifinal, giving up six runs in the third inning to fall behind 8-0 early.

Canada saved faced with two runs late, but the game ended after the fifth inning with the USA winning via softball's mercy rule.
